I first watched Laputa \u2013 Castle in the Sky<\/em> during my university days, sometime in the late ’80s. I had it on VHS and would watch it again and again in my small apartment. It was one of those movies that really stuck with me\u2014the story, the visuals, the flying robots, the floating castle. I couldn\u2019t get enough of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, while going through a stack of old sketchbooks, I found some pencil drawings I did back then\u2014dated 1987 and 1988. They were scenes from Laputa<\/em>. I must\u2019ve sketched them right after watching the movie, probably late at night when I should\u2019ve been studying. I didn\u2019t even remember I had kept them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seeing those drawings now brings back a lot of memories\u2014not just of the film itself, but of that time in my life. It\u2019s a reminder of how much this movie inspired me early on, and how long it\u2019s been a part of my creative journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
