There\u2019s a bold, raw energy that comes with experimenting outside your comfort zone. For this planter, I wanted to play with the tension between heavy, deliberate lines and a dense, opaque glaze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The carving process was physical and intense\u2014deeply gouging the clay to create those jagged, rock-like textures at the base. It felt less like pottery and more like sculpting a mountainside. Covering it in this heavy black glaze was a risk; I wanted that deep, obsidian-like finish, but I also didn’t want to lose the soul of the carvings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
