As a natural progression from the “Fearlessly Still” dragon mug, I asked myself: why not create a Fenghuang (Phoenix) design next? Why not paint it on a bowl? And why stop at the exterior—why not paint the inside as well?
So, I did. On three bowls.
I almost immediately regretted the decision. It proved to be incredibly exhausting and far trickier than I had imagined to paint the interior of a bowl. However, thanks to a fine-tipped miniature paintbrush, I managed to carefully navigate those challenging interior curves.
I have to say, even though my forearms and shoulders were completely sore by the time I finished, the process is deeply satisfying. Two of them are still waiting for final glaze firing. I’ll update the post when they are ready.
