It has been a while aince my last time making a totoro piece. I have a few 4 inch mugs ready to be used so here I go. This time I imagine a wrap around design that show both sides of the super magical cat bus. Everything in Totoro is magical!
I free handed the design on the piece and carved relatively deeper lines for brushing in black underglaze. I purposely made th lines thick in attempt for a marker style effect. I am also hoping the lines will helps paint from spilling over.
(update) After final firing. I do enjoy the minimalistic style.
